On 27 Februrary European Commision announced that the city of Granada, togheter with Vienna and Prague, is nominated to the European Mobility Week Awards 2017.

The previous edition of European Mobility Week, year 2017, have been joined 2.526 cities and towns of 50 countries, all over the world.
As in previous editions, Austria, Spain and Hungary have Como en ediciones anteriores, Austria, España y Hungría have been recognised for their number of participants:

Among cities participating highlight those that have worked in 2017 edition three objectives set by the European Commision (three lines of work), opt to win the European Mobility Week Award.
These three objectives are:
the number of cities participants "GOLD" in 2017 have been 542, seventy seven more than in 2016 edition.
Between all gold participants, registered for this prize, there have been chosen three finalists. In this edition Granada has been chosen as finalist, being the only spanish city candidate. The other two are Vienna (Austria) and Prague (Czech Republic).
Winners of this prize, chosen by an expert panel of independent consultants in transport, recieve a three minute video in english and their native language highlighting their achievements. Also, the awarded city and finalists are promoted though the channels of the campaign.
Granada has make a strong impression to the jury due to the celebration of some Carfree days, beside an advertisement campaign settled in urban public transport.

The prize giving ceremony will be in Brussels 21 March 2018. Ceremony award is leaded by the Commisioner for Transport Violeta Bulc and the General Director of Environment Daniel Calleja, of the European Union.
