CAR FREE DAY: Sunday 10 March
Next Sunday 10 March 2019, at Recogidas Street, we celebrate CAR FREE DAY. Activity Schedule from 10:00 to 14:00 hours.
More than 15.000 people attended last edition of Car Free Day that is back again this Sunday to Recogidas Street, that will be closed to traffic from 9 to 15.00 hours, with a complete programme of leisure activities to educate and arise conciousness on citizens about benefits of alternative means of transport to private car..
The council of Mobility and Citizen´s Protection, Tourism and Trade of the City Council of Granada, Raquel Ruz, in the presentation to the mass media of this new edition, has encouraged citizenship to participate, as they have been doing in this initiative, where we want to show benefits for pedestrians of sustainable transports.
Thr City Council of Granada again offers a complete activity programme for all ages, where, as novelty, can be enjoyed a storyteller workshop, expected at 12.00 hours, illustration workshops and a taxi exhibition, which association joins for the first time this initiative.
Planned activities include, also, usual markets, as Handcraft Zoco and Ecomarket, a track for personal mobility vehicles as bicycles and rollerskates, barter corner, where it is expected to have an exhibition, by Aspropalets, of furnitures made with recycled pallets, or oil recycle workshop.
Also, will have the cooperation of Local Police of Granada, and their Canine unit featuring a new agent, Stan Lee, recently adopted by the City Council, and the exhibition of swing and fencing.

As novelties compared with previous year, that will be a storyteller workshop at 12:00 and an illustration workshop during all morning, and for the first time will join Taxi Association, and again will be a fencing exhibition by Sala de Armas de Granada at 12:00h.
And usual participants in this convocatory, Handcraft Zoco, Ecomarket, Granada Pinta Bien and Artist Center of trade center, track for bicycles and rollerskates, exhibition of personal mobility vehicles by association Ampeg, Barter Corner (with a new release of furniture made by recycled pellets thanks to Aspropalets), and next to it will be installed the Illustration workshop and storyteller workshop, Oil recycle workshop and the association for Animals. Will also join Fire men, Civil Protection, Transportes Rober (information about public transport) and the Canine Unit of Local Police featuring Stan Lee.
Traffic cut
Traffic cut will be between 9:00 and 15:00 hours. Bus line 9 will divert through Camino de Ronda.
